is it possible to shadow a traveling nurse?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: traveling nurse

i want to be a traveling nurse when im older but i want to see what its like.

so i want to know if they let kids still in high school, 10th grade, travel and shadow a traveling nurse?

Well, technically yes you can, but you might as well shadow ANY Registered Nurse, because a "travel nurse" doesn’t do anything different than any other RN - it’s the same tasks, same function, just that a travel nurse is assigned to short 2-4 month contracts and get to travel.

Is a BSN in nursing better than a 2 yr RN program?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: bsn nursing

I got into UNC-Chapel Hill for the accelerated 1 yr BSN program. However, I’m not sure if I see the benefits of going to a University versus a 2-yr school.

You can have management positions with a BSN and teach LPNs. It will also be easier to move onto becoming something like a Nurse Practitioner.

Posted by: admin  :  Category: nursing degrees

i am looking to major in nursing but i am confuse how to do this. there different degrees, and different types of nurses. I want to become a RN. I am just wondering what i have to study, how many years of school, should i look for a school with a nursing program? what are some good schools for nursing? any advice will do to put me on the right track.
~thanks everyone!

There are actually three ways to obtain your RN Diploma, 2 year degree and 4 year degree. All will allow you to take your to sit for the RN boards… Diploma programs are usually through hospitals and can take as long as three years for a diploma. If you go to your state board of nursing website you can get a list of all approved programs. If you research new grads in most cases are paid the same no matter the degree. Hope this helps.
